Title: Big Guys and Board Size
Post by: Joe Grizzly on November 13, 2012, 10:04:41 PM
I have a buddy who is 5'11 and 275... He knows how to ride a board proficiently but can't seem to get the right pop on his deck... We were thinking an 8.375 is too big.... any suggestions or past experiences? He is riding a 8.375 right now.... His feet are too big for my 8.25 and He hasn't tried an 8.5

I'm 6'4" 290 and find I get better pop from larger boards.  I usually roll an 8.5 but I think I would have a hard time even telling I was on an 8.3 instead, that's only a few millimeters difference.  I think your friend should have some fun, focus on what he can do with what he has and realize skateboards weren't actually made for big dudes.

I'm 5'8"/160 (size 9 feet) and I ride an 8/8.125. It makes sense that a bigger dude would want to ride a bigger deck for a number of reasons.

I know that CREATURE makes a lot of different sized decks that he might want to check out.

I'm 3'5" 375lbs size 14 feet and I ride 7.5 I think it might be a little too wide for my tricks. I like doing steezed out nollie inward heel flips down 20 sets.

i imagine it must look like either a tumble weed or the tazmanian devil.  i'm leaning towards taz though.
