Title: Good stretches
Post by: davis on March 31, 2013, 05:33:05 PM
I personally do very little stretches before i skate unless I'm really sore but i know a lot of people do a lot of stretches before they even do an ollie.
which stretches do you like.

hamstring stretch each side, straddle split stretch next, then up and stretch quads, then shoulder stretch.

warm up with manuals and no complies. move to ollies and 180s and nollie 360s. Or just pumping around the park if i'm not street skating.

I'm also no spring chicken, so, gotta do it.

I always give myself a good stretch before I skate...Legs, back, arms, groin, etc...I don't know what any of them would be called or how to explain them but I do them and it makes me feel better.

Also, I've read that scientifically it makes no difference if you stretch before doing physical activity, but I think it does so fuck scientific research.

Funny that I mentioned in my earlier post that some research suggests that stretching before athletic activity isn't good for you...Someone sent this article to me today and I thought I should share it with you guys. Check it.

Wow, it also wastes a bit of time at the gym. Well thanks for the info instead of ten to fifteen minutes stretching before skating or working out I'll just jump straight into my routine save myself uneccessary warm up.

I always warm up by just pushing and pumping through the park twice, followed by shoulder stretches. back stretches, hamstrings, squats, and a couple lunges. do one more lap around the park just pumping, ollieing, manualing every box going faster. and at the end challenge myself with a 360 flip, if all that goes right and perfect i have a killer session every single time  ;D
