Title: Skateboarding Books
Post by: Jake Heller on October 01, 2013, 06:18:44 PM
This isn't really the right spot for this post, but being new here, I couldn't find anywhere better: are there any decent books about skateboarding out there? Novels, non-fiction, bios, whatever. I like to read. I like to skate. Of course I can read Thrasher but it would be tight to read a skate book that doesn't absolutely suck. Any leads?

if you haven't already got it, get "skate and destroy: the first 25 years of thrasher". fucking great read (you get decent history as well). you can get it off the thrasher online store

The Tony Hawk and Rodney biographies are pretty good.    Tony's having a few hints of a more Hunter S Thompson approach to nightlife so I liked his a lot more.

Mark McKee's artwork book is pretty good, although it's fairly light on actual text.
It's funny reading the cease and desist orders from companies that world received though.
