Title: The Bobby Puleo of The BMX World
Post by: Alien Sweatshop on March 17, 2009, 03:54:52 AM
I read this one thread on here not too long ago and someone said "BMXers need to build little dirt track or something, they're not creative at all"
Well I happened upon this, I don't know why I'm watching BMX videos but this guy is Bobby Scerbo:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtBdBtRE1wU (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtBdBtRE1wU)
He BMXes alot of Puleo spots and is to BMX as Puleo is to skateboarding. They have handrail bmxers, gap bmxers, cellar door bmxers, "core" bmxers, Hipster BMXers, Jock BMXers, Fixed Gear riders, BMX dads and the like.
So what are your thoughts? In my opinion this kind of shows how we can be similar, although BMXers are extremely annoying and ruin every spot, can we really say that it's just another jock, bro "sport" like FMX or something? They most likely think we're a bunch of materialistic wiggers with flashy jewelry.

So do you think BMX is a "lifestyle" like skateboarding or is it a "jock, bro sport" like FMX?

Puleo spots

unless puleo made the spot, please refrain from calling any spot a puleo spot. i didn't see any spots that puleo built in that clip.

what is fmx?

bmxers have as much of a scene as skateboarders and i have seen them do some gnarly stuff at the brooklyn banks, but we simply cannot co-exist. they have overrun the banks like vermin...same with owls head skatepark. not to mention all the ledge chipping. if there were less of them at each spot and they didn't grind ledges, i would be totally cool with them.

i saw a clip on youtube a while back with some dude doing a 360 from the banks into the basketball courts, over the rail. it was gnarly!

FMXers are freestyle motorcrossers, they're the guyswho live in huntington beach and do backflips on motor cycles off dirt jumps and listen to heavy metal.
