Well you can't spell, you think all caps is kosher, you think no one knows who Rodney Mullen is and what he's done because you picked up a book that was published when you were twelve and well now that you're 17 you think you have some secret knowledge or some shit.....

It don't matter how old I am...you're just a retard.

I don't speak retard.   Can you rephrase that so someone who reads english above a 3rd grade level can understand.

Plus you might want to refer to reality when making a threat in the form of a question.

Handy!

Pro Tip # 372:
When trying to look tough, don't use "ace" in place of "ass".

What kind of pussy says "ace"? Are you afraid mom's gonna see what you typed and revoke your internet privileges?

From your last post:
Quote
dont anybody think the kickflip that the infamous rodney mullen came up with is a little too overused
So starting this thread makes sense how? Getting an early start on Kook of the Year?

P.S. The spell check button is the one that says "Spell Check."

Yeah, for sure man, anytime we need to know, oops sorry "no," anything about skating, we hike to the top of the mountain and wait for the almighty PRESSUREFLIP57 to enlighten us with his wisdom. The skate Gods deemed him the chosen one.

Perhaps we should start a thread to ask the almighty PRESSUREFLIP57 skate related questions...

Don't get upset lil buddy. You're the one who said people could challenge your knowledge. Do I need to re-quote it?

Perhaps a little less time learning about Mullen and a little more time learning punctuation and grammar are in your best interests?

Gonna go ahead and say this,
I love Mullen,
But he's not the best.
He's not consistant with his skating,
He repeats too much.
When I first started skating, he was my favorite,
Now my favorite is Dustin Dollin.
I don't give a shit whether or not I get jumped on this post.
But Dollin has more style in his pinky than Mullen ever has.

Title: Re: DOES ANYONE STILL REMEBER RODNEY MULLEN????
Post by: bucky fellini on November 02, 2009, 03:38:32 PM

He's not consistant with his skating,

no matter what you throw at him to criticize what he does, one thing you absolutely can not say is that he is not consistent.

"Filming" fake lines in Skate,holla.

Burnside is way more legit in Grind Session,it's not all crazy like on Tony Hawk 1. Plus you can blast Black Flag on your TV on that level.

thanks for the props y'all.  yes, you just have to dress appropriately.  layers, yo.

that's rad, chuck. snowboarding is fun. i started in 1988.  polly, you should give it a try.  the only thing that sucks about the board on your feet, is no kick flips. and if you ride in bounds, you wont get caught in an avalanche.

Snowboarding is wicked fun. It's right under skateboarding for me, and ANYONE can do it. And, fun fact, you can drink about 4 times what you normally can over the course of a day. At least that's how I feel. I scored a season pass with 9 extra tickets to other resorts for $100 this year! Unheard of!

Title: Re: DOES ANYONE STILL REMEBER RODNEY MULLEN????

And snowboarding is just that... snowboarding. There are some "purist" skaters that like to rip on snowboarding. Guess what? Skating and snowboarding are two different things. It's so fun bombing runs or launching off kickers and that feeling of catching air. And finding spots to build quarter pipes so much fun.

it's really too bad its chock full of snowboarders.

Yup, but there are douchbags in every activity in life. Fuck em!
most other activities in life don't require paying serious bucks to hang out with the aforementioned douchebags.

yeah dude it's pricey, but you can rent boards and gear and shit, right?  I don't know, I've been lacking in pals to skate with (bummer) so I might try this shit.  Thinking.

i love skating in the winter. here is the break down:

good -
1. less foot traffic (a huge plus in nyc)
2. less skateboarders at spots (usually none)
3. less likely to be kicked out because security doesn't want to go out into the cold
4. you get to skate spots that would otherwise be used for recreational activities/outdoor seating/old people hangouts in fairer weather
5. it keeps you from getting fat from sitting around inside all winter
6. it is still skateboarding and still fun

bad -
1. it is cold and harder to skate in a lot of layers
2. the salt they put on the street to prevent ice corrodes your bearings
3. your board is permanently waterlogged
4. nobody wants to skate with you

looks like skating in the winter prevails. even if there is snow on the ground, you can always shovel it. and every city has some spots that won't be covered in snow, find them.

as for snowboarding, it is pretty fun. before last winter i only went once...so last nov i bought all the gear to convince myself to go more (afterall it would have sucked to waste all the money on gear i don't use). well, i only went one more time, haha. there are no places to snowboard closeby so it is a bit of a trek, but when i did go, it was really fun. completely different than skateboarding, but once you get used to it, it is fun to cruise.

It's around 20 bucks for all day around here... just buddy up with the bar staff and it pays for it's self..  :) Not to mention you can DIY all you want anywhere you're willing to hike.

this sounds pretty on point.

Although, last year around xmas time we went on a skate trip and even in KY (on our way to TN)I was so fucking cold I physically could not skate.  Man, I had on two shirts, a hoodie, coat, pj pants, hat and jeans.

I guess I'm really a pussy when it comes to low temps.  :(

but if you're ever around Flint, MI...the pavilion downtown is a great covered spot to play at when the rest of the state is snowed in.

it is pricier. but one piece of advice i can offer is that if you are serious enough about it, but need to buy gear slowly, buy boots first.  spend money there and make sure they are fucking comfortable because boot's will make or break your day.

i'm an hour away from the mountains and it cost $80 a day.  the last thing i want to do is sit inside with sore feet.  i usually go by myself, crank the ipod, smoke a fatty, and get 30+ runs in.  the best days are when it's -30 or worse. the hills are empty, no lineups.  again, the appropriate gear is crucial.

wow. all this snowboard talk made me forget about rodney mullen.

and good list eby.  we used to sneak into the heated underground parking garages and skate the curbs.  when we got cars, we'd pay the couple bucks and just drive in, with flat bars, boxes, and set up our park, 7 floors below the snow.

wow. you were able to get a board, boots, bindings, pants, gloves, a jacket, goggles, and a ride out to the resort for $20? that midwestern economy has really changed since i left, then.

how did this topic move to skating in winter? anyways, just thought i'd bring up Zered's interview when he talked about skating in the cold. he said something along the lines of how he ends up wearing normal clothes because his body heats up when he skates. that sentence sounds stupid... anyone know what i'm talking about?

makes sense.  i went skating last night. it was about -2*C.  i bundled up for the start, but by the end, i was in a long sleeve shirt and a beanie, sweating my ass off.  you've got to learn when to shed some layers. like before you get too sweaty. otherwise if you sit for a few, you freeze.

I usually put a sweater and beanie on, I'm still cold when I start, but I eventually warm up and take them off. T-shirt and jeans then.
