Title: SF park?
Post by: HELLAGNAR on July 09, 2008, 01:51:27 PM
whats it like over there. Is it mad congested?

It looks like a pretty fun park.

I guess being in SF and skating a skate park sounds a little kooky to start with.

Many lines in the street area and you can get going super fast, which i like. The bowl is nice and smooth and the pool coping is the shit . what else do you fucking need its a cool park go skate the mother fucker and see for yourself ;)...

Ive been going almost every day. You got lurker island where all the tall boys go, the bowl's usually got some session going but runs are available, the street zone (if that's what you want to call it) has waves of intensity and usually you can pick and choose your times to get in there and hit some shit...Built awesome, and fuckin lit up til 9:30. I got loads of pix, Ill put some up next week.

looking foward to the pics...

How is the vibe there?

Hopefully i can make it out there soon. We should set a time and date to get everybody on the forum to sesh there. that would be sick.

Yeah, the park is sick, the vibe is right, people are so stoked to finally have a good park right near the Mission that you can skate or ride your bike to. Phelps is there everyday—get there!

I just updated the Potrero Park info with photos and an overview in the skateparks section. The skateparks section is next on my list of things I really want to get dialed in. Anyways, if you think you got better photos of any of the parks including Potrero, send em my way, and I'll get em in there.

i got to skate the park a few days ago and it is pretty amazing. for sure in my top 3 (based on what I have skated). i could have skated there all day (too bad i was with my girl and she got bored pretty quickly just sitting there...if only the park had free wifi!). honestly, i couldn't hang very well in the bowl, so i only took one or two runs and then left it to the legit guys to kill. the whole park is pretty sick, i need to get back there!

Night before last, a couple dudes put some of that aquarium sealant in between the grout of the bowl. I feel lame for complaining because I know they were just trying to help make it better, but now even my old guy carvegrinds are so seamless and smooth...I liked it better when I could hear and feel the "gadunk! gadunk! gadunk!" under my feet.

My first gadunk gadunk gadunk was magical. I want it as my ring tone.

SFpark is the SFMTA’s new approach to parking management. It combines innovative technologies and strategies to make parking easier and more convenient, as well as to help Muni become faster and more reliable.

To make it easier for drivers to find and pay for parking, SFpark will have:

    * Real-time information on parking availability and pricing
    * New parking meters that accept coins, credit cards, and the SFMTA Smart Card
    * Longer time limits

To create more availability, SFpark will use pricing to help redistribute the demand for parking. The goal is to encourage drivers to park in garages and lots, and to almost always have one space available on every metered block.

By managing parking to create more availability, drivers will circle and double park less. This will help Muni become faster and more reliable, as well as to decrease overall greenhouse gas emissions.

hit this up for the second time this year. it's so much fun. the bowl is rad and i too did a few runs and then left it for the local rippers. i like the "street" area. that cement 1/4 is tops. there was almost a brawl on the hill, i hurt my foot, but it was still a good time.

ya that little bump before that bank is deadly if your going way fast. i fell catching a bit of air over that and slammed my knee pretty hard. couldnt really walk but kept on skating.
