Title: Demolition mission
Post by: Brian Beagle on April 20, 2011, 01:34:15 PM
On April 30th I am removing a half pipe from a house in Oceanside to harvest the ramp armor for another ramp I am building in Poway.  I could use a few extra hands, I have to completely remove in one day, ramp is 22' wide x 7' high and we only have a 3' gate to take it all out.  Do you like sawzalls?  Do you like sledgehammers?  Do you like being paid beer and lunch for hard work?  Let me know...

This is what all of you intelligently missed out on!  In a month or so we'll start building the new at secret back yard near you!

Here's a link to a few in progress pics,

damn i would have given some help if i were any where near you, but i'm not. sorry.

and really were there no screws holding any of that together?  that seems to me as a way better way to salvage what looks to be a sick ramp! good luck on your move and rebuild.

No worries DJ, the Ramp Armor was screwed on and we salvaged all that.  The framing was old concrete form boards with 4 or 5 galvy nails per, there was no taking it apart.  We had to dice it up and haul it away.  We did recycle the entire metal deck to help pay the landfill fees, so a small gain.  I post up some shots when we build the new!

That ramp looked pretty sweet. Good luck on the rebuild. Bring it to MN and I'll give you all the help you need!

I very seldom make it north of the 52, plus that weekend was too busy. I need at least a 3 month notice on that type of thing. I definitely will work for beer. I don't think there are many people on this forum in San Diego county and we have got to be maybe the laziest county in the union.

Krush -- Seriously agree, everyone wants to ride the spots after but aren't so much on the help to build 'em.  No worries, I'm used to it and really like building.  That ramp, however, was a tank.  I have never seen anything like that platform under a small 1/2 pipe.  I'll let ya know when I'm building and if you get a bug to go back to Snatch, let me know...

if you go back to Snatch, let me know...

I've been going on Mondays around noon. I can really only give about an hour a week... I've been cutting weeds.
