Hello, this is my first post here and I'd like some advice. It seems like I should just give up sometimes. I've been skateboarding for a little over a year, and still suck. I can only ollie, 180, and shuvit. I can also jump off and up curbs but not consistantly. As for slides I can only 50-50 and boardslide. Today I also landed a heelflip 2 times so thats an improvement. I just see all these people who can tre flip, and hardflip etc and its kinda disappointing when I compare myself to them. I cannot even do most tricks besides an ollie moving...that just about sums it up. Sorry if this seems stupid or is in the wrong forum area. Finally, im also sorry about any weird sentence structure or spelling f ups, typing this with my Xbox via Internet Eplorer isn't very fun. Peace  Smiley

sounds like you should just quit.  i mean, all those guys who put time in, practice to learn those tricks and improve has got to be a massive burden on your own self esteem.  not being able to just enjoy what you are doing without feeling perceived criticism from a bunch of people you don't know and who probably could care less about what you're doing.

this isn't hockey trials.  it's an individual activity that you get out what you put into.  drop the fucking xbox and skate for real.  sheesh.

Relax sonny...Don't get so worked up. Maybe you should read some of the threads here before you take what some of the regular posters say to heart, alright? (And you probably shouldn't ask for advice on the internet if you don't want to get your ass e-kicked, just so you know.) Now that we're done talking about our feelings, lets talk about skating; I think that what he was trying to say was, "don't talk about it, be about it." You see other people who are better than you, but how do you think they got that way? There was a time when they could only ollie, 50-50, boardslide, and land 2 heelflips too. They decided that they loved skating so much that they were going to be all about it, go out there and ride, have fun, and in the process they became better and better skaters. That's what happens. It's a natural progression. I'm not saying it's easy...you do have to put in some hard work, blood, sweat, and tears sometimes, but it's so worth it when you get what what you've been working for.

So basically kid, it's up to you...Are you going to sit around and rub your pussy all day, or are you going to go out there and go after it?

And if you look really closely, you'll notice that dan and outsider said the same thing.

I skated for 26 years before I did my first heelflip. Who fucking cares? I certainly don't.
