I was 12 years old and in 7th grade.A bunch of my friends had this little posse they called themselves Dead Fish. A bunch of skate rat punks I thought to myself What do I have to lose!? So I went out picked up my first Pro model The Mike Carroll Gumball Board was it, I had Venture trucks,Reds Bearings, and Shorty's Hardware I had picked up a mag at the local skate shop and I was hooked! 10years later I'm deeper than I've ever been and I'm not coming out haha. Im down for life what more can I say?

I skated every chance I could when a was a kid right through to my 20s .
It was awesome ,after school our crew would meet up and go shred .
But as we got older ,licences, cars, girlfriends that crew got smaller until it felt like I was the only one up for a skate.
Years later and in a full time job, the skateboard was just a dusty thing up top of the wardrobe.

Until at age 38 I was watching tv and came across a program DRIVE with mike v ,a face I recognised instantly ,so it was a dash to get home after work to catch it again and it started to get me thinking of the old days and the guys I had meet along the way......so after buying myself a copy of thrasher ,I was hooked again and bought myself a new steed to keep up with the young kid sand left the dusty relic retired.
The scene is a lot different these days ,guys don't talk or say hi or maybe that's cause I'm the old guy at skate parks now.
Two years later I still love those seven layers of ply and ride any hand e I get even if it is Lone Ranger .
I even got a skate and destroy tattoo to keep me inspired and remember that it a life style you choose so I down for LIFE.
Keep rollin guys great mag.
