Hi everyone,

I've had an account for a while, but have served the role of a lurker until now. I live in Mill Valley and I'm not gonna sugarcoat it: our local park sucks ass. To highlight the extent of the problem, I've included a photo of it

To explain, since the photo was taken the ground has gotten even rougher. The "park" is currently set on an old parking lot that the school has no use for. Someone stole a rail, and the one quarterpipe we have is so warped it feels like DIY. The park is also tiny and it's impossible to get a line without running into some third grader on a scooter. There are also, of course, the posers who talk shit, who call frontside airs "Indys" and have no idea who Jake Phelps is. Bikers, scooterers and douchebag Range Rover driving soccer mom's infest the place. It's in a small town so skating any spots downtown triggers an immediate call of the police by a "concerned citizen". They've been feeding us Bullshit with the "park" we have for too long and it's time to take action. Mill Valley has a ton of money, that's no secret, and certainly more than enough to make a new park happen. Even if you don't live in the area, signing our petition would be much appreciated and you can know that you are helping our local scene. We are currently scheduling a time to meet with the mayor to discuss how we can proceed with this issue, and the more signatures we have, the better we can present our argument. Thank you for helping us out, here is the link to the petition.
