I'm 39 and I'm going to build my kids a big halfpipe in the backyard.

I might buy a board for me too and skate with them on the halfpipe. Seems like alot of fun(and great exercise). I skated as a young teen and remember it being a blast.

Any other adults here who skate?

Yea I was thinking about guys in their 30's and 40's?

But I'm building a halfpipe(a big one!!!!) out back and it will be ours. I'm going to put up lights out there for night skating too. It's going to be the baddest halfpipe within 100 miles.  How old is Tony Hawk anyway?(te he!)

I used to skate when I was in high school. I had one of those vintage Powell Peralta Tony Hawk models. It was such an awesome day when I bought that board home from the store. Damn I loved that board.

How can I resist? I'm going to buy a board and let it rip!!! I was just wondering if anyone else beyond 30 was still skating or perhaps taking it up for the first time.

It's a shame that we get so busy with life and careers that there's no time for fun anymore. Fuck that!!

"adult skater"
never heard of it
I like to think that skateboarding can't see age.
therefore making skaters equal or else were just like jocks or preps, classifying people.

30 in March and never left. Still having tons of fun. It can be tough when your friends don't skate anymore, but I still love to get out and push as often as I can.

The new message board threw our old brains for a loop. I'm one of the few that was able to deal.

Yeah, i think I qualify I am 32 and have been skating for 16 years.  I dont throw myself down handrails anymore but I am certainly not ready to skate only pools and bowls.  I have kids of my own and I would love to build myself a mini half pipe but the neighborhood association does not allow it.  I think its great that our generation will put so much encouragement in to our kids skateboarding .  My parents saw it as a waste of time. So I would say build it and they will come..

I'm 26, not super old I guess, but I feel like it around the crappy local skateparks.  Me and my two friends that still skate build shit in our driveway and rip.  Skating is still addicting as ever for me.

I have been skating since I was 13. Gonna be 36 in a few months. I definitely am not skatin' the same way as back in the day, but I still shred. And when my kid is ready for a half-pipe, I'll be right there shreddin' with him.

31 and cant quit. It's more than the culture, and more than the fact that I've owned a shop for the past 10 years. It's the way it feels when the session is raging, my old ass body loosens up to the point that I feel like I'm 12 again, and I nail something I've never landed.

Never grow old...
