Okay, most core shoe companies are in the California, and most of them except for maybe Fallen and a few others don't give a fuck about ANYONE outside of California. Guess who does? Or is at least hooking up a good amount of people out here in the east coast? Nike and Adidas, which is why I choose to support them, they hook up alot of people out East like Pensyl, Falla, Jahmal, Brock, Grant, Clark, Bachinski, Todd, Tino, Zach etc. whereas Lakai, Emerica and all those companies out west are looking for the hottest new kids from the Valley who did the hottest new tricks down the hottest new spots and I think that's rad of them to do that for us. It's just like how New Yorkers and New Jerseyans were really into (and somewhat still are now) Habitat and AWS because it WAS THE East Coast company and it still is somewhat with kalis, Freddy, Jake, Durante, Kerry etc. or how someone in SF would be really into Deluxe (NY is pretty big on Krooked though). Get it now? I don't care who's behind it, they're supporting people where I'm from and their shoes are damn good and I think that's pretty rad. Can we please drop the nike pumps thing? And I'm sorry

Eastward your wet dream is about to become a reality......Habitat (apparently the midwest means east coast to you).....yes Habitats shoes for all your East coast homies that apparently are getting robbed of shoes.    Zo...I mean Elemen.....I mean Habitat is coming to save the day.

The spots in the northern part of the midwest are pretty rough and I think we can relate to them since we both go through shitty winters (I bet they'd have it worse) and such. And by calling them east coast i was more leaning towards them sponsoring ALOT of people from the east coast, at one point Habitat was all east coast minus Danny Garcia, Appleyard and Janoski around Photosynthesis/Mosaic; Tim O, Freddy, Pluhowski, Wenning, Renaud, Selego, Wenning, Kerry. AWS and Habitat videos put the east coast/midwest on the map somewhat. Even the Cali dudes on Habitat/AWS would skate LOVE. Then Philly just died and the sketchy spots/cellar doors trend (which I love) started to gain prominence. And Habitat shoes is just a rumor and I'll always have much love for Freddy.

I think that most of the people who dislike nike dislike them for making skate shoes now because of their 10 year or so absence from skateboarding. It seems like they only started making skate shoes again because they found a niche in the market to exploit... I think a lot of people feel that the execs at nike probably don't get psyched off of skateboarding or really care about it in the same way as the other companies... As for me, I probably won't buy any nikes anytime soon unless they slap some nice waffle grip soles on the bottoms...

Ha, my local shop just got some SBs.  I talked with him about the old "supporting local shops" thing and he said it's bullshit...Nike is supposedly very dickish about which shops get what.  So that theory is tainted, in my eyes.

i understand the whole supporting the east coast thing... and i also understand that nike and adidas are the only companys that can dick around with core skaters. it really is hard for vox to score a sick east coaster in hopes that lots of core kids will buy his shoes...

i for one will never buy a pair of nike sb's for the same reason i wont buy vans. everyone and their mother wears those shoes, and in some sort of anti-hero-esque way i like for my "attire" to be a mystery to yuppies.

I was playing COD:WOW & I told this one guy to stop being a little bitch. Well, I wasn't aware that this douche lived down the street and he busted into my friend's place & pulled a gun on us. The fucker didn't realize that he was outnumbered so we took his gun & threw his ass out.

I will continue to avoid Nike simply because they're an evil company that's bad for humanity.
