actually the park hasnt been destroyed at all, and they have been adding on to it every month, they even built a skateshop AT the park.  and added a faux macba 4. you can even camp there now, bring a grill and some brews and skate all night, lights 24 hours a day free, with no pad law,

really? i was visiting family in iowa a couple summers ago and went to check that place out, and at that point, there were 3-4 bikers for every skater, rollerbladers had waxed the surfaces of most of the banks, and most of the ledges and coping were pretty chunked. it was fun, but its really spread out, so you had to constantly weave in and out of bikers, bladers, and clueless little kids going in circles. if its gotten better, thats rad...and  those 24-hour lights make me think that going there at 3 in the morning just might be fun. and its really suprising that the grafitti has stayed. i dig the shoe bump. most iowa folks see spraypaint on a wall and automatically assume that gangbabgers have invaded.

wow it you must have went when they were still sitting on their asses with construction, ALL the ledges are capped with thick metal, so no chunks, but yeah, if you go anytime after 9-10 most of the "little" kids are gone, I camped out there for a few days and the cops thought i was a bum, shaking my tent at 6 in the morning asking me for ID, LMAO!!, i was like dude, i travel to all the major parks, and this one is the best in iowa. and he was like whatever, just all long as your not here for more than a few days, (i guess they had a real TENT CITY, downtown somewhere, and the mayor kicked all of them out. now theres rando's lookin to crash everywhere downtown., but yeah, they hired graffiti artist to hook the place up since there was so much crap painted everywhere. when i took alot of the emerica guys there they were all like wtf? this park is sick!!  but all in all it really is one of the best crete parks in iowa, theyre builing a skate plaza in des moines right now as we speak.  hopefully it wont be another city scam to make money.

i know there are two outdoor parks, the first urbandale, prefab skatelight, with legit 11 stair rail, and the other being some weird plop of crete directly behind a retirement home

I try and avoid Iowa as much as possible.  I do have fun at the Sioux City park though.  I've also been told that I need to go to Hamburg Iowa with a case of beer and head to the tittie bar.

I try and avoid Iowa as much as possible, unless the melvins are playing, and Paul and Ed are going to be there.
