i.e. many running enthusiests cross train their body to improve certain muscles used when running. you know this as common in most sports. but then ya also got demz runnas who be like, " fuck that shit! imma just run bitch!"

Since the gym is free in my university i work out sometimes especially in winter.

Well i dont think working out helps your skateboarding skills but for sure makes it more painless in case you bail.

the reason i ask is because i just picked up my board again after about 6 years and in that time i got a nice yoga practice going. there is a lot of shit i never noticed before about body mechanics that comes into play when even just standing on your board. skating is almost like a martial art in some ways IMO. i feel my core at work in every movement now, whereas before i thought of skating as mostly in my legs.

I just run and stretch at the gym and that's it. Pushing like a complete maniac on the board will work you out enough as it is.

Riding a bike helps strenthen your knees.   I did that until my bike was stolen.   When you're old and shit gets blown out...you'll do all you can to keep knees, ankles and the like functioning.

On a side note....anyone ever remember reading a Daewon interview....years and years ago(possibly Big Brother)...where he claimed he did 1000 sit ups AND push ups every morning.    Insanadoooo.
