Anyone else here down with Sleep?  If your music isn't about reptile masters and cosmic travel you are a pussy.

I have been hemming and hawing about throwing down the cash for some Sleep for a while.  What I have heard sounds pretty good but I was going to hit up Dopesmoker first instead of Holy Mountain.

High on Fire is one of my top ten favorite bands of all time but I am hit or miss with stoner rock but Sleep sounds worth taking a chance on.

sleep is ok, I think acid bath and eyehategod are somewhat better but they're also more sludge than stoner metal.  sleep is good but eeennnnndddllleeeesssss power chords wear on you after the sixth song or so

Thanks for the warning.

Unfortunately, I have a stock pile of music that I bought after getting sucked into some catchy powerchords.  Same ol' shit, listen to it for a week and then never go back until it pops up in some random iTunes library shuffle.   The Melvins are a good example, I thought they were the shit for about two weeks.  Now I revisit occassionally but not for long.

My friend Chad has a good saying about the Melvins.  "They're not my favorite band, they're just the best band"
