This is some footage from an in-store mini-ramp contest I was in a couple weeks ago.  Lots of friends of mine also in it.  The little girl with the pink t-shirt (at 1:02) is my friend's daughter, 9 years old and won the C class, only having been skating for about 4 months.  She skates at chill park every day.  Her brother is also in there (at 1:22), the little guy with the green wheels doing the frontside air.  That's me with the sweeper and a couple other bonelesses at 2:42.

that was pretty rad, though i thought the dude with the fs nosegrind and noseblunt slide should have won.

also, that ramp looked way too mellow. you could tell everyone has to try super hard to get enough speed to get up to the top of each wall. then again i am not a fan of mellow or short trannies in general, maybe they like it...

I agree about the transition being too mellow.  Not a big fan either.

The guy with the front nosebluntslide and front nosegrind actually came 4th of 5 in the final, believe it or not.  Unagin, the guy looking like the ninja got second.  I thought his switch front lipslide and kickflip back disaster revert were pretty rad.  Guy with the black hat and black shirt doing the early grab airs was third.

I just checked the shop blog, and it says because so many people commented on it being too mellow and boring, they've already started building a bigger, better ramp.

Uh, don't know what you were trying to say there...

But anyhow, I don't understand how a bigger ramp is gonna work, since I was already hitting my head on the ceiling.

maybe not bigger, but tighter is definitely called for. miniramps should never go beyond a 2:3 ratio of hight to transition.

Didn't realize there was a rule of thumb for that.  Looks like that ramp is 3ft high with about 5ft of transition?

I was riding a transition at the park yesterday that was 2 ft of transition going to over-vert.
