'Not Stoked' doesn't even begin to describe how I am feeling right now.

The story goes like this, my girlfriend and her family were going to mexico for a week; they left this past friday. For the last few days I have been trying to get in contact with them, but everyone of my calls went un-answered. I, like any other person would, started to get a little worried, but ultimately convinced myself it was probably nothing. That was until this morning when one of my girlfriend's best friends came to my door crying to tell me the bad news.

The truck overturned on a curve, making them fall over 70 meters to the ground below. My girlfriend was in that truck, along with her mom, dad , younger sister, older sister, and her 2 month old niece. The news they gave me was that one of the passengers had passed away, at that moment my heart sank lower than it ever has in my life.
I called the place where her dad was hospitalized to find out by my girlfriends aunt that miraculously the baby and my girlfriends younger sister were okay, with only a few injuries. Her dad was in critical condition and her mom was seriously hurt but expected to get better. My girlfriend Daniela whom I love with all my heart was also fortunately expected to get better. Her older sister, (the 2 month old's mom) however, did not have the same fortune, she passed away at the scene, may she Rest in Peace.

You all can imagine how depressed I'm feeling right now, I'm just asking for you guys to keep her family in your thoughts. As of right now I'm waiting on any updates, desperately waiting to hear from my girlfriend; I love her and hope that she and her family recuperate quickly.

Wow man, that sucks... at least most of the family wasn't as unfortunate as your gf's older sister..

Best wishes to them and to you, I hope they recover from their injuries really soon.

Thanks guys I really appreciate your support.

As of right now my girlfriend is doing better but is scheduled for surgery on her leg for monday. I haven't been able to talk to her, but I'm still a little relieved to know that she didn't have it as bad as it could have been. Her mom is doing way better. As far as I know her dad is still in a coma, hope he gets better soon.

Anyways thanks guys let's hope nothing gets worse than it already is.

So sorry to hear your news man. Brought tears to my eyes when I read it. Can't really imagine how you must be feeling, much less your girlfriend and family. I think the most you can really do is to be strong, and to be there for them. My thoughts are with you, and them.

Thanks again everybody. Not many updates yet, I know that my girlfriend and her mom are still awating surgery, her dad has apparently come out of coma but still doesn't look very stable.

Would anybody here, by any chance, know of a good way to raise money for them to help pay their medical bills?

Right now I'm feeling as psyched as a person can after going through something like this. I finally got a chance to talk to my girlfriend earlier today, hearing her voice and even getting a laugh out of her put me at so much ease. Also, I got together with the people at the vet clinic were she works, and we're setting up some fund raisers for the family; that's in addition to what the veterinary doctor volunteered to help out with.
Everyone loves her so much there. It's really hard not to love that girl, she's definately the nicest person I have ever met.
I talked to friends of the family too, and we agreed on getting together to help with the medical bills too.

The whole situation stil looks pretty bad, but at least I can rest my mind a little. Also one wouldn't think it but it really helps a lot to know that there's people out there who sympathize and can understand what you're going through, so thanks guys for all your support.
