Ok, dont know how long this is gonna last, but I just got some pads today and am going to put together a vert board. Haven't skated a vert ramp with pads in probably over ten years... Wish me luck. Look for progress as I get there, if any happens. Fuck I hope my knees can handle it. I got a big bet with the Big Dog, time will tell...

Good luck with that!

I haven't skated a vert ramp in years either but I'm envious, vert is the shit. I'd like to do it again even if just to do scratcher grinds. What is the bet with the Big Dog?

Good on ya. You did get leopard print pads, right? I don't think the others work on vert ramps.

Been watching videos on this dudes YouTube make sure and get scriby, he's got tons of old classic vert comps.

Gnarly inverts, layback grinds, backside boneless', 10x30 tanks for boards and punk rock. Ah, the good ol' days.

No, Im not sure what he's doing. I could do a little "Where are they now" for the boards possibly if I have some down time from all my ripping.

That's so sick you guys are hitting vert! HP ramp was still going in my time but there was no way I was going near that beast back then, I would just hit up The Dish or maybe EMB or something.

I skated Novato Park's big ramp later. I think it was small for a vert ramp but the trannys were better than the mini. I didnt do much but I did kickturn my way up into a frontside scratcher one day-- I was pumped!
I could probably get in a session or two at Gregs nowadays but it would be pretty intimidating with all the heavy hitters there.

I'd love to be able to hold my own on a ramp or pool and there's no better time than the present! but it's just the learning curve, or more the willingness to kill ones body I should say, that slows into your 40's... Anyways: props for getting after it & let's hear how it goes-- win that bet!

This is now the thread to get all of us over 40's motivated to start riding vert again.

First one to pull the 900 gets a free years subscription to the mag!

I like the way you think. How about it Schmitty, you think the mag will foot the bill for the Thrasher over 40 trip to the Caymans?
