Thrasher brethren, it's looking like those mystical CCDC's are manifesting themselves into the realm of the real.

I knew Berra was on DC, he announced via the Berrics and it made it's rounds.

As for my two cents on this;

Fuck. Skateboarding is getting lame if this is true. I've got a very purist attitude when it comes to Skateboarding's "Politics." Fuck Energy Drink sponsors, fuck Headphone sponsors (Your Ipod comes with them, dudes), Fuck sunglasses sponsors. Seriously, what the fuck happened? When did destroying your body with overdoses of caffeine, getting that perfect sound for your fucking Lil Wayne mix, or looking like a fucking tool with your Rayban rip offs become the necessity for skateboarding? Chris Cole goes from Black Box to DC? Besides a possibly large paycheck, why would he leave a company like Fallen, which he helped put on the Map? I bought his shoes when they first came out (The Oxblood/Van Halen style ones), and they were the best shoes ever. I became a fan when he won SOTY for the first time, which was around the time I watched his New Blood part for the first time. Now, he seems like a different person because he switched from "purist" Fallen to "Mall Brand" DC.

I've had a lot of pent up aggression, and this CCDC post is the match that lit the fuse.

Is corymartinez gonna log in to give us an epic

"I told you so!"

It does feel lame that he's repping DC. It was sick to see him shredding and riding for pretty core sponsors, minus monster. But at least he doesn't rep the logo super hard like some dudes.
a lot of the history Cole wrote was with Fallen...I dunno. Imagine if he switched to Nike,Converse,or Adidas.

I don't suppose this has anything with extra money to provide for his family. I can only assume like most great fathers he wants to see his kids grow up in the best conditions. If sponsors are going to help him, he should go for it. Skateboarding's only going to last so long for him, might as well make the most of it. Who knows when the day is going to come when he has to get a real job, or pursue a career in rap.  Wink

Brett Favre is sending pictures of his junk to massage therapists, Greenland's icecap is melting, we have an orange guy called 'Bo(h)ner' taking over congress, your friends are losing their jobs, babies are starving to death in Africa, and now, naturally, Chris Cole is on Monster and DC.  Its a fucked up world we live in, with the potential for both great beauty and extremely horrible shit.  Everything we build crumbles eventually.  The only guarantee you are born with is death, all this shit kills a little something inside me every day, and I have no idea how I'm going to explain any of it to my daughter.

The upside is that, since nothing fucking matters, I no longer feel at all bad about occasionally grinding some private property.

I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed, but I was more or less humored to see this, I had already noticed Cole was losing his touch with the monster shit. There's even an interview of him saying how just wearing a logo for a paycheck was being a whore........hypocrite is damn right. The whole supporting his family thing is a pretty good point, so I can't blame him, because after you bring a child into the world, that's all that matters for you. I wish him luck on his new pursuits and maybe he can put a new creative edge on DC for a change, hm?

For some reason it is harder for me to hate on Chris Cole for sporting Monster than other pros for having drink and other "whorish" sponsors. Maybe its just because no matter what he rips and could never have as much disrespect as Dyrdek, Shecks, or Lutzka. I mean I have more respect for the guy going to DC than the guy going to K-Swiss.

Haha, this reminds me of why I don't follow team sports like baseball and football - the teams change so often that it takes some fun out of it.  That said, you can't really blame them with all the money being thrown around - there will always be someone there to take it.

Just wanted to go ahead and take unnecessary credit for the unnecessary CCDC acronym.
http://www.thrashermagazine.com/forum/index/topic4197.30/
It WAS in reference to the CCDC Vert model, the CCDCV, which is totally real, BTW, aaaaaaaand feel free to quote the piss out of this bladder/blather.

There are a lot of good people who work for DC and I’m sure they’ve got their kooks too, just like everywhere else.

The problem is that the guy who has never skated before, yelling at his 8 year old to bend his knees more, saying stuff like “if you don’t try this we’re never coming back”.  That guy! That’s the guy who wears DC’s and for that I’ll never where them.

Chris got a big paycheck, good for him. I could care...
