It's that time of the year. We're throwing together the 4th annual Post Holiday Extravaganza!. Like last years, all proceeds will be going to Edgar to help his battle with stage four cancer.

Here's last years press release.
Quote
From last year's Post Holiday Extravaganza's  Facebook page.

They're over... FINALLY! Thanksgiving. Christmas. Hanukkah. New Year's... The excessive spending of money none of us ever had to begin with. Having to keep our homes spotlessly clean for visits from relatives we only see once a year. Kids on winter break amped up on chocolate, cookies and high expectations... and now the feelings of buyer's remorse, guilt from cheating on our resolutions, being stuck in our homes waiting to get outside to ride that new bike, shed those holiday pounds and clear out those stuffy lungs... HELLO POST HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

Eric Barnes (AKA Edgar Burn) was definitely on to something when he organized the first Extravaganza back in March of 2008. His goal was to provide a day filled with stress-free entertainment for everyone. He organized a multiple artist exhibit with plenty of extra wall space for the kids, sledding and hot cider for the familes and a blistering rock and roll show down at the What's Up Lounge for those lucky to be over 21. The first Post Holiday Extravaganza was a success... and to repeat the festivities another year was indeed a feat in itself. And here we are... year 3!

In a nutshell, it's been a very challenging 6 months for Edgar and his family after his cancer diagnosis, and those close to them are pulling together in numerous ways to help them through this trying time. Everyone who knows Edgar knows how much he's promoted both music and art here in town, using his smashing talents to front many incarnations of the legendary "Rhythmaplex Project", entertaining the masses with awesome local music and uncanny banter on KMSU's "Minnesota Music Hour", and all the while assembling the wildest metallic sculptures the mind can imagine. Mankato just wouldn't be the same without the guy, and we're ready to prove it.

It all comes back to music, art, friends and community. This year's Post Holiday Extravaganza is a multi-faceted event that will not only give us plenty to stare at, stuff our faces with and rock out to, it'll give back to a family that's gone above and beyond for all of us.

And now, we present this year's Post Holiday Extravaganza!!! ...Drum roll PLEASE...

Please pass this invite along to anyone who may be interested in attending one or all of the events listed above.

Online donations will be accepted shortly. Please stay tuned!

Allow us to give a big "Thank You" to all bands, accoustic performers, local businesses, friends and community who have contributed and will contribute their time and/or talents to this landmark event.

Here's what we have planned so far for this year.

The 1st will be a killer rock/punk show with raffles that Friday night.

The 2nd will be an all ages art show/art auction, spaghetti feed, acoustic show, bar crawl and silent auctions/raffles during the day. Night time will bring another rock/punk show with more raffles.

And finally on the 3rd we're taking over the skatepark and the parents get to shred with their kids.

How can you help?

Anything(product, t-shirts, artwork, ect..) that you could donate to be raffled off would be pretty rad. We are going to start working on a press release soon and would like to get our sponsors that have donated recognition/advertisement on the fliers.

Big thanks to anyone that helps out and if you cant I certainly understand. Times are tough.

That's so rad Hefe... I'll have Jason Knudson talk with you, PM me your email addy,  I'm willing to bet he will help you out with artwork for Extra High Grade. And it would be nice if we could work something out with you guys, t-shirt wise as we are shopping around for good deals.  The guy(Jason) is a sick artist...
Here's last years flier...
... we sold out our run of T- Shirts, I think it was around 250.

Here's a flier he did for my old band. One he did for the Rockford Mules...
And some illustrations that he does for a living...

Wow, he's got some epic talent! We would love to work with him, but you guys certainly don't owe us or anything. Make sure you let him know we have half-tone printing capabilities, so we can print single colors with different shades. For example, we have the ability to print the blue Rockford Mules poster in just one color if it were on a white shirt. Also, if you did wind up contracting us for the large amount of shirts, we can do as many colors as you want. Full color capabilities now.

Our website and online donations should be set up by next week. We have our weekly meetings on Sunday nights and I'll find out more.

And thanks a lot to everyone that has offered to help out. Every bit helps and you all pretty much rule!

We had a slight delay trying to get "non profit status." The IRS watches these things pretty closely. We finally have a lawyer that will take care of the financial aspect for us.

Pamphlets, websites and online donations should be set up this week now. We're hoping to have a solid month to advertise. And yes we're still taking donations.

Thanks to Jim Thiebauld, DLXSF, Mike D De Camp/Alchemy Grip and Extra High Grade, for helping out skate community wise.
