let me start by saying that ive been coming to this site for nearly 5 years now and this is my first post. my names ryan. been around 20 years, been shredding for 10 of em. i live in rhode island by the beach. with all the surfing, we naturally got a pretty good skate scene. i grew up a really good student and im going into my third yr of college, but everything in my life feels so wrong. im borderline passing in a shit science major that i dont know what to do with. im a pure blooded skater with a passion for concrete parks. not only shredding them, but also the art behind their uniqueness. i want to design and build skateparks, simple as that. i have autocad experience and ive worked with my uncles using concrete in various construction projects. what should my first steps be towards seeking a lifelong career building or designing concrete parks? are their companies that will take me under their wing as an apprentice? my questions are directed towards phelps, anybody at thrasher, anybody with connections to the skatepark building industry, and to anyone reading this who has any advice for me. thanks for reading -- ryan

Move to Portland or Seattle.
