There's this kid that lives upstairs from me in the apartment I'm in. He's maybe 10 or 12 years old, and he doesn't really have any friends, because there aren't that many kids that live on our street. His parents are always screaming at each other and getting into fights, and I feel terrible that he has to go through that BS because I remember going through it as a little kid. Anyway, when I'm outside skating, he'll come out and ride his bike or rollerblades or whatever and talk to me. The other day he got talking to me about skateboarding, and said how he used to have a board, but the little kid that lived in the apartment where I am now stole it from him when he moved. He said "He left me like 50 silly bands and a rack to put my magazines in, and took my board. He wasn't a fair trader.", lol. I let him ride my board for a little while and tried to teach him how to ollie, and now I really want to get this kid a deck so he can start to learn. I have some old trucks and wheels I can hook him up with, I just need a deck. Who knows, maybe it will give him something to do to get him away from his shitty home situation, and maybe he'll meet some kids his own age. Anyone know any younger kids that skateboard? Should I get him a mini size deck? I learned on a full size deck, but I was a little older, like 14 or 15 when I started, so I'm not sure. Either way, I'm stoked to try and get him into skateboarding.

Get him a 7.5 'cause he might have it for a couple of years. Board shops usually have a stack of used boards and if you buy something you can usually ask for one and they'll hook you up. if you get him a new deck he could use the used board to give to a new friend that wants to skate too.
