just throw your worn set of big wheels in the drawer for summertime when you swear you're gonna hit some street spots but probably never will because carve grinds are just way more fun.

basicly dont buy something you can make yourself.

The precision and quality control involved in making your own (quality) wheels would be far more expensive than just buying some.....I hope.

I think the point trying to be made was to buy big wheels and wear them down small by riding the shit outta them.

I had a set of Rat Bones 90a that were 60mm when I got them.  When I retired them after years of sliding out they were about 50mm  i.e.  I made my own small street wheels.

yeah i like 53 or 54's I think anything smaller like 50 to 51's you catch anything in them like roocks and pebbles and go flying

I always thought of 52mm as "standard"
i get like 54 or 53mm because the ground here sucks and i have to push my ass around (my super hilly) town, then skate em until they are like 35mm  Grin. none of this swapping setups nonsense.
