is that thing as mellow as it looks, susej?

on a somewhat related note, i saw some dude at the skatepark this morning that looked a lot like you. he was skating the bowl and if i didn't know any better i would have asked him if he was you. you would tell me if you were in nyc, wouldn't you?

Some flatground by my apartment, it was great.  Really exciting, I know, but it was my first real session in a few weeks (I went to check out the Chelsea Piers park when it opened and took a few runs in the bowl on someone else's board) after sustaining another concussion (number 7? Its getting hard to remember) from tangling my feet up and slamming while trying to add height to my nollie back 3's, and then had the bonus pleasure of developing a freak allergic skin reaction a few days later, which left me blistered and raw.  Funny how being fucked up makes you really appreciate the little things, like rolling down the street.

Eby, I'd tell you if I was in NYC...

The bowl actually isn't all that mellow.  Guess it does look like it in the picture though.  Started to make a clip of me and my friend there last week, I'll put it up in the next day or so.  I might only have video of us going in circles as fast as we can though...   It's 6ft deep, and perfect.

And I can't get enough of the chewed-up pool coping on the ramp.

Chelsea Piers Skatepark

From the pictures available online, its hard to tell how the spacing is, but they did a good job.  The decks and street stuff have plenty of room, the middle bowl has good lines of sight if there are multiple people in it, and the different sections flow together nicely.  I hate to say it, but I think this is going to overtake Missoula MT's as my favorite park.  Its close though, Zootown's is so fucking fun to skate, plus they don't kick you out at 7:30 pm.
