I decided to give skateboarding a try at a late age, late 30's. I used to skate as a teenager on big wide Powell Peralta boards and stuff. Then later I moved to San Diego, CA and got a cruising style board that I loved. I was at this skateshop a couple of days ago and bought this board from S9 called the Cloud 9.

I wanted something smooth and comfortable for cruising around on, but the guy at the shop told me this board could also be suitable for light skatepark use. There are a couple of awesome skateparks where I live and I plan to ride them.

What I don't get about this board though, is why there is even a tail on the front of such a long deck. The deck is 40" long. As far as bracing my foot up front, you'd have to take a seriously wide stance. Are there other reasons for having a tail up front? Does it give you a weight leverage that helps you ollie? Do you think this will be a good board, what's it capable of?

This whole movement to two tailed boards, I haven't really understood yet. If I find myself getting more into flip tricks, I'll get a freestyle deck like everyone else skates on.

you were sold a long board and those are garbage. go back and return that stupid thing, tell the kid who sold it to you that he's a fucking retard and buy yourself a real skateboard.
