i used 2 think they were good when i was around 16. but your taste in music starts 2 develop and in no time i was using their cd as a coaster

How can a band that started in 1984 be considered "Nu Metal"?

Have you ever listened to roots? There's tribal drums. I don't mean nu-metal as in newer metal, I mean nu-metal as in what slipknot wants to be. Sepultura is one of my favorite bands of all time, Arise was amazing, as was Roots. But they are pretty nu-metal.

I can't call them that because "nu metal" wasn't even a genre back then. They were just a weird metal band. Certainly they were an influence on some nu metal bands though.

It's really all about Butt Rock these days. Nickelback, Hinder, Seether, Creed. Hinder wins though because they released their latest album with three different ratings: All Ages, pg-13, and X-RATED. "Rock n Roll" is in a sad sad state.

I think Deftones were one of the only bands that I listened to despite their involvement in such a terrible genre.
