It was on this day in 2002 and 1985 respectively we lost two of the greats.

At the risk of sounding like one of the biggest losers of all time, I just recently listened to The Clash's first record.  It was way more jarring and awesome than I expected.  It was dripping with that manic urgency of having music inside that needs to get out that so many bands today lack.

Do punks today even know that punk used to have some variety and melodic intentions?  That it wasn't always some ridiculous fashion show?  Maybe they could use...a history lesson?
