My Community

Heading down this Sunday to the Caymans for a week and planned on taking a shot at the Pearl.  Any advice or comments before I start packing?

Just got back and wanted to share some of my findings with the fellow lurkers.

- Went to the park on three different occasions over the course of a week.  Regardless of what time of day it is there it is hot.  Morning, afternoon, or whatever. Hot.

- Its $10 Cayman ($12.50 US) for an all day pass. Totally worth it, just be sure to sign the helmet waiver unless your on some Rune Glifberg shit.

- The locals there were cool and some seriously rip.  Its hard for me to imagine the Black Pearl being the local park.  That just breeds gnar.

- For whatever reason, the Nike vid was always on every time I went into the actual skate shop.  The kids there love them some Luda Crooks.  Who can blame them?

- The park is an odd collection of things from some hectic vert/pool/cradle things to a mellow street course.  Some of the coping is pool and some is good ol' steel.  Random things are sprinkled here and there as well such as a pole jam, an assortment of parking blocks cemented into the ground, random lumps and bumps you can't see, and pool-coping ledges on flat ground.

- If you're ever down in the islands its worth stopping by to skate.  Feel free to ask any questions and I'll post some pics whenever I get the camera and computer in the same place at the same time.
