What I wanna know is how Ali is doing? Is he still rotting away in jail? Will he be physically able to skate again?

see, shane and jake were/are awesome in that they don't care about industry taboos as far as tricks are concerned. neither were ever afraid to huck a 'honna. too bad that duo is not intact. i am sure they would have make skateboarding more fun in no time together.

I think/heard so. I wish he could get back out before he is physically unable. Yes its true that he killed shane. But they were both VEEEEERRRRYYY drunk. So i figure as though if Ali is a great skater, then why waste him and keep him in jail?

Because he committed a crime, and I don't think Oz probably gives a shit about whether or not he is able to make a contribution to skateboarding.

Thats a good point, and obviously he deserves to sit in jail for the rest of his fucking life.
im just trying to see both sides of the story.

I don't think dude deserves to rot or be in jail.    I seriously doubt Shane Cross would want that either.

They BOTH were wasted on a bike...yeah Ali was driving it.....but hell they both made a bad decision.   Now one person's gone forever and the next...who happened to be dead guy's good friend, is going to have to pay for this mistake (they both made) for the rest of his life?

Vengeance due to not understanding why people do stupid stuff and vengeance because you think it will make things all better is just backward thinking to me.

Elissa, Reynolds, and ALOT of pros have cleaned up their act.    Ali should be given that chance.   He has to live with killing his friend for the rest of his life.    That's punishment enough.

I used the skating without a helmet analogy earlier in this thread or maybe some other one but its clear to me that 99% of "real" skaters are out there without helmets.     To me that's seriously the equivalent of driving drunk.     There's the risk of death and both are arguably preventable.   Strap a helmet on and don't drink and drive.    Those are the alternatives.   But we choose to live life how we choose.    And skating without a helmet is argued as being "free" by so many skaters.

So let's say there's this hypothetical park that requires everyone to wear helmets and NOT be smoking or drinking at.     Easy enough.    But now imagine the reality that exists....10 and under kids are the only ones wearing helmets(if that) and blunts and 40s are in the mix of the older kids as one huge session goes down.

If one kid who happened to be wasted off O.E. and blowed on blunts accidently cuts off someone else or drops in on someone in a bowl situation and the other kid falls/gets ran into cracks his head open and dies.       Does the kid that did the cutting off or dropping in by accident really need to rot in jail for the rest of his life?

Jail/Prison doesn't help.      And "punishments" are rotting away social justice.  That's just my opinion.    I hope Ali gets out soon and gets help.   I'm sure he's already mandated to go to drug and alchohol classes.
