Actually it was Indonesia. And nothing sucked about it. I'm sure Thailand wouldn't have sucked either though.

some of the old dogs came over on the weekend to help for a couple hours.   with their help, we got the first layer of sheeting done. well, except for the corner. we also ripped up sheets from the old ramp and overlapped some of them to strengthen it up.

some veteran ramp builders up in here.

i'm pretty happy with how it's looking and pleased with how the bank tied in.

Damn, that is awesome!  I need to get off my lazy ass and make something in the backyard (my car is a garage queen lol).  Cant wait to see the final product!

get on that! at least you don't have to shelter yourself from a deep freeze.  i would have built outside if it weren't for that.

seems like we've been trying to avoid sheeting the corner.  some marginal way goodies showed up in the mail  so it inspired me to try and cut at least on piece a day for it to make up for lost time.  shit is tough it figure out.  been mostly winging it lol! but for the first layer, i'm pretty happy with it.

thanks bailgun!

we also mounted the cut section of the mental block onto the top of the flat bank.  yes the ceiling is going to be removed and head space made.  the "franken bank" is is gnarly.

here's an idea of the space we used.

thanks again for the comments.  it's getting closer to completion.  .  hopefully picking up some coping saturday and might be able to start on the masonite.  the corner deck still has to be poured.  on to some more pics.

almost have the 2nd ply finished. part of the corner and the lower part of the flat bank need a couple more pieces.

i'm obviously on instagram.  search #thementalblock and follow me @dtotherob

Are you going to protect your garage doors from the shredding?

so i didn't get any coping last week but my friend Geoff came in from vancouver for the weekend.  a few guys showed up and we got to work on the corner. the last of the second ply.  we prepped the first layer to ensure a smooth final surface.

and then Geoff started on cardboard templates for the next ply.

a few hours later, we had this.  we even took a few turns rolling through it just to make sure it was rad. it was.

Geoff flew home the next day. bummer cause i could use his awesomeness on the masonite!
