I can't listen to music anymore while I skate. I lost my iPod months ago and now I have come to enjoy the sweet sounds of Urethane. Plus, the earbuds kept falling out and messing me up.

I cannot listen to anything when i'm skating. I gotta agree with the guy who posted about getting too caught up in the music and not being able to land anything. That's usually the problem I have when skating, plus it doesn't help I listen to a lot of more aggressive music, so I want to scream along with what i'm listening too.  I remember I rolled up in the the whip once to this outdoor skatepark listening to Discharge or some other HC band and all these little teenager kids were talking shit. Sorry dudes, go listen to Drake or Lil Wayne.

Pop Punk & Hardcore Punk; if not it tends to be underground rap.

With earphones? No way. I don't understand why you would want to drown out the immensely satisfying sound of wheels screaming or metal grinding concrete. A stereo blaring during a pool/bowl session is a different matter.

I can't listen to music when I'm at it. Nothing beats the sound of breaking your bones, anyway.

when you skate to music, ill do one earbud so i can hear my board/trucks/wheels as well as jammin out to some good tunes. I listen to all sort of stuff when i skate (dubstep-i dont care if you like it or not, and ska punk like sublime are my personal favorites) i think it helps with style and even helps me to focus. when all i can focus on is whats in my head and the beat of the music i think its easier to get in a rhythm land tricks. Hosoi used to pump himself up with jams before he killed it on the ramp why cant I?

I prefer hearing the sound of my wheels rolling and sliding. Hearing the rails when you're grinding. Best of all, the sound of a stomped landing.

this only started effecting me like a few months ago but unless im riding bowl or halfpipe (in which case im blasting pentagram, iron maiden, slayer, etc.) I cant skate with earbuds anymore, i find once i progressed to a higher level of street skating i realized it didnt just require to get pumped and huck a trick i actually had to hone in on my six senses, and for some reason unless i can hear every little thing when i skate street it just wont work, also cant skate with sunglasses on, or even stoned. i like to have 100% concentration, plus you dont feel so spaced out from all the homies
