the same advice given by Hefe on the first page.

but since i decided to visit, i'll give my 2 cents.  finish high school and get into a trade. the world will always need tradesman.  it's something you will always have to fall back on, and you can do anywhere.

So did the dude graduate?

Anyway, even though this is a really old thread I would advise to graduate high school or GED equivalent, that basic knowledge is good to have for the journey of life.  Additional college schooling is great but it's not for everybody, definitely not for me!  People shouldn't forget that just because somebody has a degree doesn't mean they are automatically set with a good job.  Some friends and family of mine have degrees from Davis, Berkely and SF and they don't make a lot of money.  But don't get me wrong, college is great if you like it and learn from it.... just don't go for the sake of going. There are plenty of ways to make decent money without a degree, it just takes good work ethic (a little bit of luck doesn't hurt either)  I only have a HS diploma but I've worked myself into a career that I like.

I'm currently a senior in highschool in Rhode Island, I do pretty good in school, but a few years ago they made it harder to graduate, no longer can you just get the credits you need, now you have to have a portfolio full of assignments from classes, certain amount from each. Also we have to do a senior project. This involves picking a topic to investigate, get a mentor, write a 5-8 page research paper about it, work at least 15 hours with your mentor, and if you do all this right to their super strict guidelines, you have to do a ten minute presentation in front of 5 judges who will ultimately decide if you graduate or not. But, to quote Jello Biafra: "Oh my god, its your senior year, all you care about it your career! It's a life sentence, life sentence!"
