Couple friends of mine are testing out a new spitfire formula. Until its released, I'm sticking with bones.

its funny, on the slap mag forum everyone hates spitfires and rates stf's. i guess everyones different and all were hearing is opinion. although there is and overwhelming feel that spits really are hit n miss when it comes to product quality. some have lasted people a year some disintegrate in 20 minutes.

all i can say about the bones so far is that i wish i had gone for the V1 or V4 shape. the ones i have are the V2's and theyre a bit too skinny for my liking.

and to be honest theyre an 83B which is definately the softest ive had. going to give them theyre first run out at a sick indoor concrete park in UK on sunday. then i'll know the score...

i suppose SPF's next? makes sense, theyre harder arent they?

I love the bones STFs. I like to slide around.

The Bones really won't flatspot but they have no grip at all, which can be fun but if your hauling ass around a turn or really need to slow down with a powerslide then they can get you killed. I haven't skated Ricta boltz but i've had the naturals and the cores, both of which were decent but a little rough to ride on and had too much grip for my prefernce. Spitfire classics are the best all around wheel though I would say, they will flatspot but it's extremely rare. You pretty much have to try to flatspot them, they also have enough grip to where a powerslide will actually slow you down, but at the same time they won't grip so much they fling you off. out of the two brands you asked about though I would have to go with the Bones.

I stick with the STF formula because I like to powerslide, bluntslide, etc.  In my experience softer wheels don't feel good sliding.

On the other hand, I will admit that Spitfires do 'feel' better than bones but I got sick of replacing flatspotted wheels after a first day noseslide or bluntslide  Angry

This reminds me of way back when I used to ride little tiny wheels, like, a thin layer barely covering the bearings!  :Smiley

just had my new STF's on skating a small concrete park which had dirt which was like gritty sand in some area's. predictably the wheels took some light damage from the stones, a couple of small chips and one minor groove in one wheel. but the way it rode through those rough patches was amazing. everyone else there was suffering from stoprocks but the bones were fine. definately worth a shot.

there were a few tiny chips in a couple of the wheels from the stones. one wheel had a little chunk taken out which left a small groove. what im saying is that i still had control on shitty terrain.
