I'm 39 and I'm going to build my kids a big halfpipe in the backyard.

I might buy a board for me too and skate with them on the halfpipe. Seems like alot of fun(and great exercise). I skated as a young teen and remember it being a blast.

Any other adults here who skate?

I'm 38 but my wife would say calling me an adult would be a stretch.

yeah I'm just getting back in the swing of things. I am getting out a bit more around my area..ALL the skaters I've come across are in middle and high school.  Undecided

I am 32. I have a small quarter pipe in my garage. Mostly ride alone. at 32 you simply can't be hanging around a bunch of kids. I don't really know any skaters my age around my part of town.

Nothing against the kids...they are great! As an adult though, just can't be hanging out with kids.

i don't know man. i'm 28 and i have skate buddies ranging from 18 to 45 and they are all great and nobody has a problem hanging around with somebody from a different age group. gotta find the right people.

i find i skate alot by myself. i have a few friends around my age here that i skate with also, but most have moved away, or don't skate anymore.  i know kids at the local park who have grown up watching me skate and some of the late teen, early 20's rippers and i would consider them skate buddies now. but i have a hard time becoming really chummy and exchanging numbers to go skating.  i'd just prefer to chance upon them at the park and enjoy a rad session with them.

i think alot has to do with work schedule. as in i work, they do not. lol

how's your health insurance policy?

everyone knows that when you have health insurance, you don't need it. it is only when you don't have it that you need it. not that i ever want to need it.

Not true with me. I'm 41 and have only had health insurance the past 8 or 9 years in 33 years of skating. My parents never had it when I was growing up. In the last 7 years I've had wrist surgury to correct when I broke it when I was 16. Took out my entire proxial row (the 3 big bones at the bottom of your wrist. Really cool.  Also had meniscus surgery on my knee from another old injury. As a result I can keep skating, so can Danny way. Not that I'm even in the same building as that guy, he's just a good example of the benefits of health care. I hope you don't need it too brother!

That, my friend, is a love of skateboarding.

Or a midlife crisis.

This was my midlife crisis.   My 30+ old man part has had the music removed by the boobtube people so its even more of a bummer to watch.   My friend made me put the Doors "Wiskey Song"(title?) because he had the footage of me getting way too wasted at the beginning.

I still can't post these youtube links right....I suck on so many levels..ha

that was sick! props. too bad the audio was stripped out. time for the skate community to officially move to vimeo?

Same shit and time period just mas lame shit.   Photobucket still hasn't cracked down on copyrights.

I remember thinking it would be funny to be skating to some R&B R. Kelly BUT Biggie song.   One of the benefits of just having fun with it I guess?

I think I was 29 for some of the clips so not really my 30 year old man part.    Filmed from 29-31 years of age.

St. Louis, MO.   There's a couple of things in Memphis, TN too.   That MLK metal statue.   Super fun to skate.
