Umm, I'm pretty sure I know what I've worn and what I haven't worn...and I've never worn Airwalks. My first pair were Etnies, my second pair were VANS, then I moved on to Adio's and now I wear DC shoes.

I recently bought a pair of Etnies on sale and they fuckin' blow.  Very little cushion and what little there is had a big hunk of glue stuck under it in the heel.  After I chiseled the glue out of each of 'em they are a little more comfortable, but not much.
