HAHAHA christianity doesnt even aprove of gays. please point out any of my posts where i "hated" on them. i stated why people become gay in the first place (a chemical unbalance in the brain) and i really don't see what playing video games and smoking weed have to do with going to hell.

if there is a god, do you think she cares what christianity approves of? i really doubt it. christianity is a man made religion. nobody knows what she would or wouldn't approve. if she made them, why would she disapprove of them. if there is a god, wouldn't she be the one responsible for this mythical "chemical imbalance?"

drugs and violence are also evil, according to a lot of christians. hence weed and video games making you go to hell. i think that is what he was implying.

and you are saying that hardcoreskates has no idea about hell. he is probably twice your age. if he has no idea about hell, who are you to speak? you sound like you are trying to be an authority on it.

christianity IS  manmade religion... but the belief in a 'greater being' is felt in all cultures and peoples.

some people have decided that Christianity is the best way to worship that God, and i agree.
-but i'd like to point out that christians are the biggest hippocrites i know. then again, when you see christians in china and vietnam and what they go through and what they still choose to do, you get pretty humbled

I was playing COD:WOW & I told this one guy to stop being a little bitch. Well, I wasn't aware that this douche lived down the street and he busted into my friend's place & pulled a gun on us. The fucker didn't realize that he was outnumbered so we took his gun & threw his ass out.

wow, this is my 2nd post on here, and i came here to see what the world of thrasher skaters opinion on christianity was.... and yeah.... i found it

i know a lot has been said (i will never take the time to read through EVERY line of these forums)

i guess to sum up what i've seen so far is:

most folks think christianity is rediculous but dont care about what people believe, some folks just straight up hate christianity altogether, othat folks hate religion altogether...

I did see that christians are super hypocrites, and well... that's a pretty common objection, but what does a person's character say about the religion they claim? nothing at all, in order to "judge" a religion one has to go to the source that the religion comes from, i.e. in Christianity's case... the Bible.

plus, being a christian, i'll say that a christian will be the first ones to admit to being a hypocrite, i don't know who came up with the idea that once you become a christian, you dont screw up, the gospel according to the Bible is that we become christians because we are hypocrites... hence Jesus's life being a substitute for ours, the whole point of biblical christianity is that there is nothing a human can do to save themselves... from themselves

anyways, i'm sure that's enough of that, if you actually read that much stuff, you're cool

i'm a christian, i'm a skateboarder, and i think you're cool no matter what, well, unless you prove yourself to be extremely uncool...

intelligent convo anybody?

i stated why people become gay in the first place (a chemical unbalance in the brain)

well... i didn't think i'd respond to anything specific... but... i just got to

one question:

what is your source for saying that homosexuality is due to a chemical imbalance in the brain?

another question:

did you know that you totally just hated on gays by eliminating the idea that it is somebody's choice to be gay?

ok... well this thread seems to be on the verge of a mish mash if i get any responses

I started the thread originally to show the Negativeland video Christianity Is Stupid.

Next thing you know KMoe is telling us that we're going to hell and the rapture is coming, I'm sure BlahBlah chimed in with his homophobia, Sleef destroyed both of them with his rational posts, and the thread was pretty much dead, then dijo came in and put the whole thing into perspective.  Now you are bringing back up.

Ooops I forgot about Boymachine. I have him on ignore.

It all seems like bullshit to me.  It's a great way to keep people under control, both spiritually and financially.  There are some good things that come from church.  Community, good morals, and lasting friendships.  However, if you are a good person inherently, then you don't need a book or some dude with a white collar to tell you how to do it.

i agree with you for the most part.

aside from a false sense of hope, i dont think religion can offer anything useful in our world.

the whole religion gives people morality, community, and friendships argument is bullshit.

keeping people under control... we could say that in a sense for roman catholicism because of their deep reaching into people's personal lives, but when I look in the new testament, i don't see much of people being under control, i see people who were looked at as outcasts and loonies by the masses and suffering persecution. and really... even today, within any christian church, and even here where i live (the bible belt) there is a great majority who are avidly non-christian...

a core christian doctrine is total depravity, meaning that there is no inherently good person, sure we could be nice, and do good things, but our standard of good will never be up to par
