We played on one of those giant arena rock type stages. I had my amp just cranked and went to the side of the stage the guitar player was on and could barely hear myself.  I don't think his monitors were on either.  I'm thinking it's gotta be nice to have your own sound guy. Anybody wanna be our sound dude?

i usually crank it and never let their sound guy touch my amp, i have a mesa triple recto head and a mesa recto cabinet, but then again that half stack is usually loud as fuck.

Whats the name of your band?

Tell me how your drummer and bass player play along with you when you play out. The triple recto is only a 150 watts, how does that work if you don't mic it in a bigger venue?.  How is the front of the house mix?

Stage volume is not a problem for us. I'm pretty sure my 300 watt  Sunn amp and 2X15 cabinet as loud as it is, still needs to be miked and ran through the monitors as well as the mains to ensure a decent mix.

LOL! The size of your amp correlates with your penis size. Our groupies must think I'm making up for something when I plug in to that 300 watt monster......................

"The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and..."
"Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?"
"Exactly."
"Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?"
"Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?"
"I don't know."

practice makes perfect, we have played so many shitty venues we practice to rely on ourselves, all i need to listen to is the drums, i can't speak for our bass player.

have you heard a triple recto on a 4x12 cranked? its loud enough believe me, i've been playing for a really long time, i can play decent enough just by getting the drums on my monitor if it gets bad enough i can just play in front of the drums and be done with it i ain't no rock star.

i'm pretty sure you know there is a difference between what you get through the monitors and what the audience actually listens, we play a mix between punk rock and thrash metal and we usually get the audience involved just to check out how good/shitty the sound is, our sound is pretty clean as we play straight to the amps.

EDIT i just realized you're the same kid from the music video thread, we will never agree on anything anyways, to you what i like is "boring" and to me what you say is bs anyway, so let's agree to disagree.

there comes a time where you wanna define your sound, i disliked stompboxes and the brittle fender sound single coil sound, so i knew down the road i would like to have a les paul, contrary to what tradition dictates, (les paul and marshall amps) marshall didn't do it for me, and tube amps rarely come in combos and i was tired of borrowing amps to play gigs so i saved enough and tried a jcm 800, a mesa mark IV and triple recto, i wish i had money to get both mesa heads, i ended getting the triple recto, while the mark IV heads are hard to find nowadays.

in time if you stick to it you'll end with a nice set up on the road to finding your own sound.

its all about stage volume. my drummer is a pretty hard hitter, and i've got a super powerful amp, so as long as the soundguy gets some vocals and the laptop in the mains, we really don't give a fuck. too many dudes working in small rooms try to put everything in the mains, which usually just results in a lodness competition between the stage volume and the mains... most small venues really don't need much in the way of pa, anyway.

I doubt you play shitty venues if you're in Disorder.

Dude it's  Disorder. For real? I have been a fan for years. No fucking joke.  The Burning Ambitions LP( Dude, you were on the first ever real underground album I bought.)  and the Punk and Disorderly comps you are on are killer. Whats the old school UK skate scene like? Dude's check out the UK/Decay video, and you'll see some bad ass footage of the Numeral.

I like your guitar tone playing through the Marshalls. Why did you switch?

Sorry you'd be a giant popser if you played in a punk/thrash band and had no clue who Disorder are.
