wow! that looks gnarly!  details?

This part of our property has been in this state since the early 80's (Cinder block walls). I started building the skate spot in June this year and these are pics of what I have done so far. I have plans to build the entire area as time and money permit. I pay for supplies myself so I have to build in sections.
What it looked like after I built a wooden bank and poured the wallride.

Now

The sessions have been a blast so far.

That's some proper DIY Salamander. It's the kind of stuff I wish I had the guts to build

Thanks krusher, the sessions have been a lot of fun so some of the hard work is starting to pay off.

please do!

well it's been quite some time since i've built a ramp so here are the fruits of this afternoons labor. i spent $100 and recycled some wood laying around the garage.  i can still park both my cars in there too.

found this composite parking block on the side of the road.  seems to grind good and it's light enough for my application. stoked.

Good job Dan!

I’ve got a bunch of those parking blocks, I just don’t know what to make. Are you a TV Repair Man? You’ve got an awesome set of tools…

thanks man!  ya the block is pretty cool.  i thought i'd like something other than coping and snagged it on the way home today.  the blocks at Burnside were the inspiration.

a TV repairman?  sorry, but i lol'd!  nah, i work for volkswagen and have been a technician for almost 20 years.  that is my home tool box as i have a small business i run out of the garage on my free time.  my tool box at work is easily double the size of that red one.

Cool dan!

If it were mine, unless I'm going with a super-heavy-duty surface, I'd add a couple more 2x4s toward the bottom of the transition.

so last night i added some more support and sheeted it before i went to bed.  probably took me about 8 hours to build, start to finish.  it's pretty solid. i have to clean up my garage and then i can skate it.

added some more support... it's pretty solid.

Add an access door and you could use it as a bomb shelter. It's built better then anything I've done, good job!

the parking blocks are as smooth and hard as the coping!
