Divorce happened (not me, thankfully!).  some kid is taking it out in a couple of weeks.  It was a lot of fun and served it's purpose, but as is the inevitable fate for all ramps, it's time has come.

Oh man, I'm drooling over that mini china bank. Hands down my favorite type of shred terrain. I've been wanting to make one out of wood for awhile but I guess I just suck or something.

Ya my house bowl will be R.I.P. next year, so I know what you are saying.

I BLOGGED your "China Bank", in fact I think I blog your bowl last March

That china bank looks great!

We are getting closer to our next pour. Hopefully we can get 5yards done the first weekend in November. It should finish out the deepend walls.

This is our firepit loveseat over vert pocket finally framed out.

Fire pit love seat? sounds perfect.

Here's my blog tracking my wild and crazy skateboard adventure.  Nothing too crazy, just stuff we build and places we skate.

www.down-4-life.blogspot.com

There are a couple of photos of the china bank build.  With all materials (including wood for the form), about 115 bucks.  It really was simple and is only 8 pieces of wood.  The thing is burly as all get out and fun to skate, I'm just not so sure it's the best thing for my 4 yr old son to learn on!  Most dad's build mellow shit, I build something that most people can't skate!  Oh well.

SWEET! MORE STUFF FOR ME TO BLOG!

Down 4 life is booked marked.

Stoked that you are moving forward on your bowl Frank. A friend of mine got all of the inspectors and codes people of his back when he started calling his bowl a "backyard deck with artistic seating", he's had no trouble for 2 years now.

I got the "We don't care what you call it! You dug a big hole in the ground and your putting concrete in it! That's a swimming pool!" So I filled out all the permit paper work listing it as a skateboard ramp. I think they were wanting to jack my property taxes up. I have to get a framing inspection hopefully this week or next. Then I'm done with the city. I'm hoping to have the bowl done by the end of November.  Well minus decking.

Our closest skatepark is almost 2 hours away. They just passed an ordinance banning skateboarding in downtown. So we started a non-profit and are trying to get parks in the central Mississippi area. skatems.com
So at times it seems like our city hates us, but we are trying to change it. We have 2 locations we are working on getting right now. So it's just fundraising form here out.
Shameless plug: Buy this CD compilation! http://skatems.storenvy.com/products/102849-kids-need-fresh-air-2cd-compilation
All proceed go to The SkateMS Foundation.

Nice blog! I want to do some floating concrete ramps randomly throughout the city. No fill looks so good.

I had first posted about the build going on in my backyard a while ago. Here is a link to the page of this thread.

Finally built a new section about a week ago. Still a work in progress but definately taking shape. I have plans for this entire area but only as money and time permits......

Here is the form I made the weekend before pouring the concrete.

Doing the finish work.

Finished

Coping and deck, I was real happy with how this came out.
