I started in 1948. Age 6. Peter Parken was a surfer in San Deigo gave me my first skate board.
I unlike this other character embrace the youth culture. Bindings on a skateboard? No I dont even do that. I'm 67 and I still ride bowls and make the trip to the liqour store on my skateboard with no bindings.

My kids and I watched Thrashin a long time ago. I have skated with Dave Duncan and have gone to service with Christian Hosoi. We had a lot in common most skateboarders have always been kind of outcasts. I don't know why, thats just the way it is. I unlike  I want my kids and grandkids to be freethinkers I'm 67 and have done alright for my self. I can still skateboard with out bindings. LOL

Yeah, I like skateboarders too.  They are so unique, hardcore and underground.  Even though everyone wears their shoes and tshirts, their top skaters have TV shows and video games and millions of dollars and they all have to dress, act and think alike.

They are all such "free thinkers" they don't allow anyone to think differently.  They are such "artists" that they don't keep score but they all know who rips, who sells out and who is sponsored.

They aren't outcast.  They just want to be seen as outcast to establish themselves in the counterculture culture market.  It is all about making money just like any Wall Street banker.

You are not influenceing your kids to be free thinkers if you are encouraging them to think like skateboarders.  Skateboarders are the most mainstream and conformist of any group in the country.

They won't even torerate anyone developing variations in the standard equipment they ride.  Look what they did to in-line skating, scooters and BMX.  It is simple frat boy mentality.

I don't know the song you are talking about but I do know the movie.  I think your kids should follow the example from the movie "Wild in the Streets" and keep you high on LSD in an old folks home.
