pffft, whatever, bail. you're obviously not core enough. all the good shit's been done, man. the last good record was put out in 1983. just ask mike ness. girls couldn't go into a mall and get their little titties pierced in 83, kid. and if you had a mohawk, you were gonna box, goddammit.

They just seem to be about more image than the actual music. From sources I've seen and heard Sid couldn't play a fucking lick even to the day that he died.

Sid could play a little, not that the bass lines are very complex, but I assume he was just so loaded most of the time that he had an even harder time with it.  Glen Matlock from the Rich Kids started out playing bass. I kind of wished they would have kept him on. And I'm pretty sure Steve Jones did most of the bass stuff in the studio. Take Sid out of the band and you've got a pretty solid punk rock group. Steve Jones and Paul Cook were tight, sure I can see how they were over shadowed by Johnny and Sid's image, but those guys were right on and were the core of the group. Do you dig the Professionals?

Never listened to them. Got the scrapped self-titled and/or I Didn't See It Coming?

Yes I do, I'll post them later. Jones was also in a group called Chequered Past. I've got the album and I can't remember too much about it. I"ll have to go back and revisit it.

Other than the obvious Mainstream bands/artists, are there any bands that everyone seems to like that you just can't get into? I've honestly never been into AC/DC for some reason. I can enjoy other "rock" bands like Black Sabbath, Minor Threat and Bad Brains but I'm really more into kind of softer stuff. Not TOO soft though. Shit like animal Collective, Elliot Smith, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Morrissey, The Smiths, The Kooks, The Doors, maybe Sonic Youth, Dino Jr. etc.
Even if you dont like Elliott Smith you cant deny that he is an amazing guitarist.

I like the first few Pink Floyd albums but that's it.

Jamming!!!!

Live at Pompeii is an epic video.

Yea live at pompeii is definitely the most badass floyd live recording ever, saucerful of secrets is insane. I let some girl borrow that and never got it back. I need to get on that...

dont know how this will be recieved... but i dont really like GG Allen that much.

maybe 2 or 3 songs, but otherwise it's just like him to me... scum

i respect the legend, but i dont understand the fascination with the music
His early stuff with the jabbers and the scumfucks was really good. The voice on his later records kinda sucks. A man can only do so much drugs and consume that much alcohol before it begins to affect his voice. Check out banned in boston I posted in the Crucial music thread. Very good shit
I hate to be the grammar asshole here, but its G.G. Allin, not Allen.
