i am doubtful now that you have lived in nyc. sure there are some racists, but guess what, people here have to learn to tolerate each other since we are crammed in trains together for a good part of the day. there are very few neighborhoods that are strictly one race. people co-exist and there are many more non-racist people. there might be more racists than any other city, but that is because there are more people here than any other city. proportionately there are not more racists here than other places. you just so happened to hang out with most of them, thus have a distorted view.

From my time on the forum and from my experience with the 20 to 30 year-old skateboarders I know, I have come to realize that the younger skaters aren't the as ignorant than the old hippie assholes.  Sure you have the same old fashioned and anachronistic political beliefs, but you are less willing to blindly fight for them.  Maybe it is because they are just the beliefs the old guys gave you and not those that you have forged yourself.

For whatever reason, I have bet to if banned from this forum.  I give respect where it is due.  It least you younger people have the balls to go toe-to-toe and not call your Mommy to save your asses.
