the other day I was skating and some kid was wanting to check out my deck, so I let him take a gander at
it, he said his friend had the same wheels, so I said cool (they are spit classics), but then he
asked me if I had them on backwards, because the writing was on the outside.  I just chuckled and
said "come on now" and skated off

Why DO we put graphics in?

I need real friends who skateboard so I wouldn't have to ask you all these embarrassing questions.

graphics diversify the product portfolio of wheel companies which sell more wheels. we all know they will rub off in 2 days and the only real function they have is to tell us the size and durometer when we are buying them...but since they are putting that stuff on anyway, they add graphics that will hopefully catch our attention and get us to choose them over another brand.
Half in, half out, so I know which side of the board is which most of the time.

I just always have put them like that, plus with the classics, it's got stuff on both sides
so I opted with the writing to have it look like white tires I guess.

I usually paint something on the griptape to tell which end is which:

I use a different colored piece of hardware.  Well, it's actually just a newer piece, so it's shinier and stands out.  I put my wheel graphics on the inside because I generally don't like them.  Keepin' shit simple looks better.  Style points.  Yep.

That still doesn't make sense, how do you know which one is the tai-I'm fucking with you.

I always imagine that those things would hurt ten times more than regular boards when it comes to ankle bruises.

the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard was " skateboarding is gay, mountain biking is way better"         but the thing i hear most are things like "can you do a kickflip?" or "can you do a shuvit?"

i have that nightmare come true on a regular basis. but the increased aerodynamics the pointy nose affords are worth the occasional sharkbite.

every time one of my friends saw "circa" in a skate photo (e.g., 'circa 1992'), he thought it was a photog's name. he said  "damn, this circa dude seems to have taken all the sick photos back in the day". this is when he was in his mid 20s.

I laughed at him.

Because that's what friends are for.
