When/hy the fuck did bright colors become popular?

In the late 70's. Also the 80's 90's and now. Because it's near impossible to really be original.

Coming from the east coast, nestled in the green mountains of VT, far far away from any skate drama outside of the local scene, it's interesting to come over here and be amongst those who know such and such and have hung out with so and so.  For people like me, I get everything I know about skateboarding from videos, mags and the interweb.  Personal experience rarely factors into my opinion of anyone.  But over here, everybody knows everybody, or everybody knows somebody who knows everybody, so it ends up being kind of like high school.

I'm not trying to say it's right or wrong, I'm just trying to shed some new light on the arguments.
