i don't feel good about it, but i've knocked over a kid or two in my day. and when i was a kid, i got knocked off my board a few times too.

when i have to abort my line over and over because the same kid can't seem to figure out the concept of looking before he leaps, something's gotta give.

after asking nicely to clear the way 100 times to no avail, sometimes a simple lesson in the laws of physics is your only option.

sometimes in life, you have to learn things the hard way. kids seem to develop some etiquette and actually start looking before dropping in once they've been run over once or twice.

and don't even get me started on bikers. fuck those dudes. they NEVER belong in a skatepark, period.

i agree with everything you posted here.  i've also had 2 long time skate bros get hammered by bikes.  one, a shattered knee cap, the other a crushed cheek bone.  shit sucks.

i'm pretty thankful that the part i frequent hardly has any bikers. they usually really only stick to one spot on the street course which is on the far end of the park, so i've never seen anything happen. i have at other parks i don't ever go to though. i've never really seen skaters be aggressive towards bmxers there, usually the opposite. like bmx guys throwing rocks/coins into the bowl where skaters are skating in hopes they will catch their trucks and go flying. or snaking a skater's line and then grinding on whatever ledge they were going towards so that their trucks fuck up the ledge. i have friends who bmx and don't do this, so i don't get why anyone would. there's no reason skaters and bmxers should have to be so against each other.
rollerbladers are a whole 'nother story though...  Grin

The other day at the skatepark I saw two bmx'rs crash into each other face to face, and I mean literaly like one face smacked into the other dudes face. They fell on the ground rolling around for a minute. It was absolutely hillarious.

the only thing that really bothers me is when theres a herd of bmx'ers and theyre just standing in one spot, watching one guy wheel around the park. one park i go to sometimes is notorious for this. these same kids stand in front of the wedge that everyone wants to skate while they watch/film their one buddy do the same trick on the quarter pipe over and over again

The thing that really angers me is...why are bikers and fruitbooters at a SKATE park? It's called a SKATE park for a reason. It's not called a Biker park or a Fruitbooter park, it's called a SKATE park. It just shows that skateboarding is more of a necessity to have a park, whereas bmxing and fruitbooting are nothing worthy of a park.

It's up too the individual park who they allow at the parks. I know it sucks but there are a ton of parks that are open to everybody. Some parks have designated times for bmxers. Get with it BlahBlah.

I understand that it's open to everyone but is it fair for someone on a skateboard being run over by someone on a bmx bike because they are impatient and think that they rule the park. It's pathetic, really, it is. Does riding a bike make you superior? I didn't think so.

I'm not saying we all have to be buddies and sesh together. But can we at least try to respect each other. I have no problem with BMXers but I do have a problem with assholes.

One:  You don't know what happened before said kid got pushed over by the grown ass man.   not that they deserve it but it leads to point two.

Two:   To reitterate (spelling lacking due to beers) bailgun, there's a simple law of physics kids must learn

Three:   As a skateboarder I'm sure we can all understand how we all look at the enivornment around us differently than most.   I'd say even more differently than most bikers.   I mean I look at my environment and sometimes WISH I was into biking because...............YOU DON'T NEED CEMENT.    There's such sick shit everywhere that if I were a biker I'd be on some other shit than going to the local skate cage risking a ticket.

Four:   It's called a skatepark for a reason

same here. i agree with bailgun. bmxer or skateboarder, little kids only learn their lesson one way and i will gladly teach them.

i have 3 issues with bmxer at a skatepark (same thing applies to the brooklyn banks where they are a plague):

1. when they drop their bikes, pegs are like hammers that break the ground.
2. again, they will win in a collision and thus won't back down, even if you were approaching first.
3. you can't hear a bike coming, unlike a skateboard...and they don't have breaks.

these guys have taken over the one cement skatepark in nyc, as well as the banks. i wouldn't have nearly the problem i do with them if there were less of them and they were more aware/considerate.

and BlahBlah, they are much worse than rollerbladers. rollerbladers may make things slick and roll in packs, but they don't chunk things up and i will win in a collision with a blader.
