We like to tell people that wear Famous, "hey man, that's a pretty cool shirt". Of course they never get the sarcasm.

Really in order to fully be interested in something it helps to have common knowledge.
So by saying not to care is either ignorance or a really planned out process in which the skater doesn't see much pros and videos of the newest trends while growing up therefore having more of a funner and unique style. Since their influenced by classic skaters who where more aggro then trendy or fake. I see this type of approach from more southern or midwest skaters. In the case of Jason Adams he was moved by skaters like Duane Peters and more from that classic generation of greater skaters.
It's a breath of fresh air when I see kids like Ben Raybourn. Who have a more independent attitude and can base there own opinions. I always want to see more of those skaters.
For an example I live and have grown up in San Diego where there are few skaters that are focused purely on skating, so that gives me time to study and find out the most recent news. I don't want to be sucked into the whirlwind of bullshit, that is drinking and acting like an idiot, I'll leave that up to John Lupfer and Smolik. Instead I'd rather be a vigilante as far as having things to skate goes and actually build shit instead of having mommy buy it for me. When I'm not skating I'm finding out about skating. Developing my mind about what I'm fascinated with now and forever.
i never read long things. can you sum this up please?

people that are deprived of things are valueless and trendy, turn out more capable of creating original things, whether on a skateboard or not.
