When is rebar necessary?

When you want shit done real and you want it to last.   Rebar keeps shit from cracking and like the name suggests, reinforces the wall, tranny...whatever it is you're making.

Metal ain't cheap.   You can use "found" shit like chain link fencing...or real rebar if you happen to find some.

If you're in a sketchy place and you need to mix concrete fast use a tarp as your mixer. It's my favorite way to mix 1 or 2 bags of concrete. They sell tarps to do this but you can use any good condition tarp.

Fold the tarp so it's 5X5 foot square and put your 2 bags in the middle (you better be strong). Make a mound in the middle like mash potatoes holding gravy, but in this case the gravy is your water... about 2 gallons.

Two people facing each other grab the corners of the tarp and pick it up off the ground, then they bring opposite corners to each other.... my right hand to your right hand, your left hand to my left hand... do this 4 or 5 times and you will have the most perfect dry mix of concrete and it takes seconds.

I use this method at work a lot 'cause we usually only mix one or two bags and we need to do so about ounce a month or so for post and bollards.

I searched the internet to find a video to link to but I couldn't find one. If you use this technique you should film it... it will be a youtube hit
