Haven't you heard?  Skateboarding is the new hottness!  I'm really weirded out every time I hear a boss...or a COP say, "oh, you skate?  awesome!".  Works out to my advantage for sure, though, haha.

I hear the ol' "You skate?" Just replace the "That's awesome," with a strange look.  Shocked

haha I get it, you're older.  I know how people view shit.  To counter that...whenever I show up at a park I get, "oh my god, is that YOUR board?!?!"

nah, they kinda just vibe me at first.  It ends up being a back and forth snake sesh while I'm trying to warm up until I "prove" myself.  Whaaatever, though.

Lame, I'll never figure out the vibe another skater deal. I met a big chunk of my best friends from skating. You would be out skating and see someone else, you talked with them and sessioned. Of course the scene was way smaller back then and there was little to no sports guy / jock factor involved.

Yeah, I remember being at the bus station when I was like 14 and seeing a kid with some Etnies on and starting a convo just based off that.  You knew just from someone's swag if they skated, you know?  If you happened to run into someone downtown you ended up skating with them and just having a good time.

I can't stand the competitive vibing thing.  Lame.

playing skate sucks when it's random ass kids trying to outdo you at a park.  It can be fun dicking around with your buddies, but yeah, five minuets into a sesh some asshole all up in your shit, "PLAY ME IN SKATE!!!"  No.
