my government takes pretty good care of me. it only costs me $44 a month.  that same money helped save my dads life, and bring my friends new life into the world. sure it also keeps the cancer ridden smoker on life support, but he, at some point, paid for my multiple broken bone fixes, and surgeries.

i don't mind paying for them, and they don't mind paying for me.  sure it has some flaws, but what system doesn't.

i do pay into a work group health plan, which isn't much either, and that basically gives me free prescriptions, glasses, the dentist.

bottom line, i'm not gonna lose my house because i had an accident.

just throwing it out there...

i don't believe it's the government's job to take care of us.
so you don't want anymore schools, roads, fire departments, public transportation, national parks, or environmental regulations?

think before you type.

that would also mean it is not our job to pay them taxes.

oop! i guess that did sound pretty stupid...

i guess what i was getting at is when the government controls things like our health, then they have the same power over that as they do schools, roads, fire departments, public transportation, etc...

and then something about how when much is given, much is expected...
and something about the state of our public schools..
and a 1984 reference.

i'm not too concerned though, you won't catch me at an 'anti obama' rally.
