theres a difference between  wearing a helmet at a park where they make you wear it, and wearing it on the street skating a set of stairs...................... even cab knows when to take the helmit off,

Whats wrong with wearing a helmet besides some people think it looks uncool? Are you that concerned with image?

they're fucking hot. sweat drips down into your eyes. they fuck with your peripheral vision. they fucking suck.

personally, i don't even own a helmet, and i refuse to skate any park that tries to make me wear one. (conveniently, i also refuse to pay to ride my skateboard and most places that require helmets are pay-to-play, so it works out nicely.)  i'm a grown ass man, and i can decide on how i live my life, thanks very much.

I fully agree. Too bad someone invented winter here in Michigan.

I gotta side with Bail on this one.

Yo, Michigan...go to Oakland Vert in Sterling Heights.  My favorite indoor park.  They're grimy as fuck and always building new shit.  Snake run, vert wall, stairs for days, good street course, a mini bowl, masonite banks and a really good quarter.  You can move whatever you want around and pretty much do whatever you want.  They'll tell you helmets are required, but I was there three times a week last winter and never once wore one.  Owners don't give a shit.

lol I grew up 5 minutes away from there and still local there to this day. I'm tight with the owners kid and most of the crew there. The wood really, really sucks there but for how big it is, I'm not complaining.

They are building a really nice mini that should be almost done before winter. I'll try to get some footy of it. Have you seen the brand new back section they put up?

I'm kind of..."banned" from there now....which fucking sucks, long story...

anyways, his kids are fucking good, man.  Smooth style.  Last I was there they were building on the back.  The wood IS shitty, and half of their shit's made from tile floor pieces and other random shit, haha, but I dig it.

where're they building the mini?  That one is so fucking gnarly behind the huge halfer.  It's so steep and inverted, super fun.  Next to that extension that leads up to that manny pad...

They are replacing the over verted mini that you're speaking of with a very nice mini, 4 foot I believe.

I wanna hear this ban story, I'll have that shit lifted.

And the kids are good there. In fact, they are repaying the favor of me taking them to Farmington by taking me to the D tomorrow. Should be rad.

Isn't it too cold?  Hit up those banks/ledge things by Omally's pub for me.  Favorite spot.  It's right down town.  Mannn that weird ass mini was fun...definitely janky, but fun for that reason.  The story is kinda whack.  I was down on my luck and some fucking little bastard asshole kid left out a $3000 camera with a  $1000 lens on it.  I'm really not sorry, people should appreciate what they have more.

My regular park is great. They have a sweet kind of disclaimer. If you fall on your arse or break something, it's your fault. I only find it fair.
